Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. Her family was moved to Oxfordshire at the age of five and attended the Dragon School. From the age of six Emma realized that she wanted to become an actress. Over some time she studied at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theater school, where she learned singing dancing and acting. Before the age of ten she performed as well as taken part in a variety of Stagecoach shows and school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film remake of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Agents for casting found Emma by way of her Oxford Theatre teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after 8 auditions. They were chosen to play the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance on the big screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001. The movie broke all records in terms of first-day and weekend revenue, making it the highest-grossing film of 2001. Critics have praised both the film, as well as the performances by the three main young actors. The popular British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her acting performance as admirable. Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the Leading Young Actress for part of a feature Film. Emma was awarded five times for her part in the film.
